The Yuzamashi (湯冷まし)  is an indispensable tool for cooling water from a boiling kettle. The Yuzamashi helps absorb the heat and bring the water down to a temperature fitting for sencha, gyokuro, matcha, and other green teas.

This bowl also functions as a mixing utensil for matcha, as it features a pouring spout -- perfect for transferring the liquor from bowl to cup.

Maekawa Junzô, a 4th generation master in Tokoname, produced it.

This bowl is handmade, and variations in color and texture exist between individual pieces.
