A Study In Aging Gracefully
When it comes to rare teas, this one's a giant.
Plucked around 1992 and carefully aged by the producer’s family, it’s a knockout example of aged Dancong Wulong, re-roasted multiple times to ensure a healthy mix of depth and delectableness.
Aging and fire have evolved the tea's fruity and floral a new, thick body and rich mouthfeel. There are bold & bitter notes of dark chocolate and espresso bean that provide a foundation for fruity and tropical scents. It was worth the wait.
Dancong Wulong
Dancong is the outstanding class of Wulong (Oolong) tea from Fenghuangshan, China. Unlike other teas, named after their cultivars or shapes, Dancongs take their names from their fragrances. Farmers cross-breed brand new cultivars that remind the nose of famous scents, and clone future generations to preserve their uncanny character.
