A Study In Aging Gracefully
This is an uncommon find, and we are excited to share the opportunity to savor its rich and complex flavors. This tea was plucked in (approximately) 1992 and has been cared for and aged by the producer's family for most of its existence.
The tea's fruity and floral profile has been augmented with a thick body and rich mouthfeel. The tea has been roasted several times to assist the aging process, resulting in the infusion of rich and deep notes of chocolate and espresso beans.
Dancong Wulong
Dancong is the celebrated class of Wulong (Oolong) tea from Fenghuangshan. Unlike other teas, named after their cultivars or physical form, Dancongs are named after their fragrances.
Producers cultivate Dancong to mimic the aromas of flowers and other botanicals. In addition to the signature Honey Orchid fragrance, Dancong also comes in various other scents, such as Yu Lan Xiang, which exudes the delicate fragrance of Magnolia, and Rou Gui Xiang, which releases the robust scent of Cinnamon.
